Bob’s Saga

Developer Robert Pelloni has spent the better part of the last five years of his life developing this game for the Nintendo DS. The project does not yet have an official name so right now everybody refers to it as “Bob’s Game”. It has been called the largest game created by one person. Unfortunately, the powers that be at Nintendo have yet to publish it or even acknowledge Pelloni as an official DS developer. In spite of all this, Pelloni has decided in a desperate move to seal himself in his bedroom until Nintendo decided to publish his game. You can check out the video above and tell us if you think this game is worth publishing. As of now, the word on the street is that an anonymous Chinese company has approahced Pelloni with an offer to publish the game on homebrew cartridges like the M3 DS.

N64 Portable

Ben Heck is at it again and this time he has modified an N64 to fit in a hand held device. The N64 mod named the Nintendo Sixtyfree Lite-R is a fully functional N64 with a screen all fitted into a package the size of a PSP. This mod has a slot in the back to fit any standard N64 cartridge. Heck did mention that he did not get the control stick to work satisfactorily as it still has troubles registering movement in the Y-axis and there is no room left in the console for an internal battery pack but aside from that the whole thing works perfectly! We wonder if it is homebrew compatible (R4 DS)

Nintendo Christmas Reactions

For those parents who want to make a big impact on their kids’ Christmas, there is Nintendo…

Year after year, Nintendo proves itself to be a very safe choice for parents. Even looking back on my own childhood, one of my best memories was getting a Super Nintendo for Christmas! Of course that I didn’t react the way these kids did but then again Nintendo consoles have gotten much better and more mainstream over the years. This isn’t the first time a video has been made popular either. Check out the original Nintendo Xmas Flip-out video below! NINTENDO 64!!

Nintendo Ships 1.7 Million Wii Consoles

The Nintendo Wii has been dominating consoles sales ever since its release. The Nintendo Wii has been around for a while now and while it has generated its share of controversy, consumers have proven time after time that it deserves the customers’ choice award. According to a recent report from VG Chartz, the Wii has sold over 1.7 million Wii consoles in the week leading up to Christmas 2008 alone! If that number is correct, it has destroyed its two competitors combined. The Xbox 360 sold 500,000 units while the PS3 sits at 250,000. These figures come even after aggressive cuts by Microsoft have placed the cost of the Xbox 360 below the Wii!

New York Toys R Us Nintendo Section

With the Nintendo department of the New York Toys R US store on Broadway, Nintendo really pulled out all the stops. The entire section is decorated like heaven for kids and features over 1000 square feet of pure gaming Nintendo style. There is a Wii wall where customers can try out select games as well as a Nintendo art gallery. If portable gaming is your scene there are plenty of Nintendo DS systems to try out. Even if you don’t plan on shopping from Toys R US, you should still consider enjoying this display as a piece of capitalistic art!

It’s a great time to be a kid and we definitely regret having grown up…

Nintendo Wii still Dominates Consoles

The Nintendo Wii has proven its mass appeal season after season and the 2008 Christmas season was no different. Last month, the Wii outsold the Xbox by over 100%! The sales figures have the Nintendo Wii at 2.04 million consoles sold while the Xbox lagged behind at 866,000 units and the Playstation 3 even further behind at 378,000 units sold. Sony has been under pressure lately and many analysts speculate that the company needs a PS3 price cut badly. The Wii is also the only console where the company does not lose a little money with every console sold while the PS3 holds the biggest manufacturing vs retail deficit.

Nyko Wii-mote Issue Solved

Nyko has been making a wireless nunchuk for the Nintendo Wii and a while back the two companies got into a dispute over the appearance. Nintendo had complained that it looks too much like the actual Wii nunchuk and therefore violated certain patents. Nyko countered that they did not knowingly violate the patents and also that the glove didn’t fit meaning Nintendo is full of s**t. Ok we made that last part up. The trademark dispute has been settled and while there haven’t been details revealed, there is no doubt that Nyko had to pay Nintendo some enormous undisclosed amount.

GTA: Chinatown Wars Ships March

Since Grand Theft Auto Chinatown was announced, it had been generating a lot of controversy. It will definitely be one of the more violent games released for the Nintendo DS console. There were some delay issues with the release date but now Rockstar has announced that the official release date of GTA: Chinatown wars will be March 17th for North America. The game is currently in development by Rockstar Leeds and Rockstar North.

Nintendo Sued for Wrist Strap Defects

Molly Elvig, a mother from Littleton Colorado is the latest person to file a lawsuit against Nintendo. The lawsuit cites the wrist straps as being defective at holding the Wii mote. When her child accidentally damaged her 52″ TV by throwing the remote at the screen, Elvig decided to sue Nintendo for the totally reasonable amount of 3 million dollars. Although Nintendo did warn that the straps may break if “excessive force” was used, the documents filed claim that Nintendo did not reveal the defects.
