If a new patent filed by Nintendo is to be implemented, Nintendo consoles will soon start having a “help” button. When the help button is pushed, the game will open up a sub menu that provides the player with hints, cheats and will even allow the player to skip that section entirely. In the on-going battle to make gaming mainstream, Nintendo apparently views the mainstream population as bunch of lazy and unimaginative tools. Although hardcore gamers such as myself would be massively turned off by the implementation of this mechanic, what about all the casual gamers out there? What do you guys think of this idea?
